Donghyun Son

About
Donghyun Son’s artistic practice shows deep reverence for the history of East Asian art. Simultaneously, his works are unapologetically marked by iconoclastic innovation. From the earliest days of professional practice, the artist has pushed the limits of Korean traditional painting, redefining its boundaries through innovative works that recognized both tradition and potential.

His works show dynamic and covalent interaction between materials and techniques, subject matters and styles, the past and the present, the virtual and the actual. His works on paper are not rigid crystallizations, but temporal and dynamic intersections of multifaceted pluralities of space and time.
