Kang Tae hun

About: Kang Tae hun is a Busan-based artist who was born in Busan, South Korea. He earned a bachelor's degree from Dongeui University, Department of Fine Art, in 2002 and received a master's degree in sculpture major in 2004. For the past two decades, Kang Tae hun has been working conceptually to reveal secret but powerful social ideologies and systems that control individual thinking and behavior. Whether it is a regional event, government system, territorial issues, or the world's economic system, he has warned of invisible power that suppresses our lives with various formative languages, such as impressive installations with symbolic objects and texts, film, and new media.

Kang has been invited to many solo exhibitions where he spread his theory based on personal experiences, including (Space Bandee, 2006) that talks about totalitarianism and the system base on personal experiences, (Open space Bae, 2008) which covers subjects on deceptive faith and fantasy of society, (Gallery SUGA, 2013) that represents the formations of ideology and repetitive history, (KAF Museum, 2015) that researches issues of marriage system and national population problems, and (Space Heem, 2016) that questions what to do for life and death in such a dark age of the society, (Amado Art space, 2018) that questioned the ideologies and fantasies of our time, (Open space Bae, 2019) that criticized the reality of the working class and the perception of society. He works internationally, mainly in Germany and Korea, participating in many invited exhibitions, such as (Busan Port 1, 2022),(Busan Museum of Art, 2021), (Gyeongnam Art Museum,2020), (Museum of Contemporary Art Busan,2018),(Arko Musem,2017), (Busan Museum of Art,2011), (Nam Seoul Annex Building of the Seoul Museum of Art, 2008)(Busan Museum of Art, 2010), (Gwangju Biennale, 2008).
